Red colouring agents are used to distinguish medicines and for medication safety. If the colouring agent (E110) represents a major problem, you can wash the tablets under running water immediately before taking them without damaging the gastroresistant coating. Wobenzym® contains enterically coated enzymes, so these enzymes are not deactivated by the acid conditions of the stomach. maintenance = 2 tablets 3x/day, semi acute inflammations = 5 tablets 3x/day, maximum = 10 tablets 3x/day at that level some bloating and/or flatulence may occur. Take a minimum of 45 minutes before meals or a minimum of 60 minutes after meals, always swallow them with a big glass of water.
Do NOT take when in 24hrs you are to undergo surgery, when you are a haemophiliac or have severe liver damage, if you are on Warfarin or higher dosage of Aspirin, if you are pregnant or a nursing mother. Harmless alteration in the consistency, colour and odour of stool may occur as a consequence of enzyme action. The absorption and concentration of concomitantly applied antibiotics are increased at their sites of action when the enzymes are administered simultaneously.
Precaution: the symptoms of chronic illnesses may occasionally increase in severity at the start of enzyme therapy, this is a sign that a therapeutic reaction is taking place and must be evaluated positively. The enzymes should not be discontinued, although a temporary reduction in dosage might be advisable.
